CE Success Story
Emma started a new job in the fall of 1999 providing janitorial services to the Arden Hills Army Reserve Center. Emma and her three co-workers are responsible for all aspects of cleaning the three buildings that make up the complex.
Prior to starting her job, Emma lived with her grown children. Today, she lives independently in her own apartment and manages her life with the help of semi-independent living services. With the wage that she earns, Emma has been able to furnish her apartment and has even been able to save some money. Emma is happier and more self-sufficient than ever before. Emma says, "I love my job and the enjoyment it has brought to my life. Before, I didnt want to get up in the morning. Now I have a reason to come to work
and the wages make it better!"'
