Step Into Work

Step Into Work is for individuals in DTH who are primarily focused on work. AccessAbility offers production services to the business community providing work and training opportunities for program participants. Individuals in this program have an opportunity to be employed in real work settings. They earn income through work in assembly, packaging, mailing, and document processing services. Programming and training services center around learning appropriate vocational skills including acceptance of supervision, staying on task, punctuality, interpersonal skills, and adherence to safety rules.

Community employment opportunities are provided through mobile work crews that go with staff out into the community to work on projects lasting from 1 week to 6 months. Occasional recreational/leisure activities are also part of the Step Into Work program. This provides participants with the chance to experience various social activities in their community.
