Career & Educational Pathways
Pathways to Success
Our Career and Educational Pathways (CEP) program provides services to support adults with criminal backgrounds seeking second chances as they reenter the community. Individuals work with staff to design individualized case plans. Based on participant interests, aptitudes, goals and skill sets, plans include progressive steps for navigating career and educational pathways and include the support services needed to ensure people are successful and empowered to achieve their goals
Support services may include assistance with housing, transportation, legal aid, budgeting and driver’s license reinstatement. As people transition back into our community, they face a variety of competing demands. CEP staff works to ease the burden of the stresses people face through the transitional process
Working with employer and educational partners, pathways are designed for career progression and industry-recognized credentialing in a variety of career fields, including advanced manufacturing and construction industries. Pathways are strategically navigated for employment in job occupations with the highest potential for hire and career progression post-employment. Bridge programming and adult basic education instruction is also available for participants who still may need to earn their GED or need to work on contextualizing basic skills for industry applications. Government agencies and nonprofit partners collaborate with CEP to provide needed support services. Email questions and inquiries or call 612-331-5958.
The CEP program is currently funded by the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development, The Minneapolis Foundation, The Greater Twin Cities United Way and the Northwest Area Foundation.
