2018 Marks AccessAbility's 70th Year Serving the Community


AccessAbility has worked cohesively and innovatively to meet the needs of the community and is dedicated to evolving and growing with the people we serve. Founded in 1948, AccessAbility started as an organization to support children with cerebral palsy. AccessAbility has since evolved to serve adults with disabilities and other barriers to employment and community inclusion, providing opportunities for self-sufficiency and independence. Our team developed an inventive operating model to provide those in need with immediate access to resources, employment and training.


Today, many of our participants are faced with multiple obstacles, including homelessness, re-entry, severe disabilities, racial disparities, limited English literacy, and poor/limited work history. AccessAbility served 601 individuals in 2017.


Our target is 250-300 attendees for the Gala from a well-curated invite list including: supporters, city officials, corporate attendees, and the philanthropic community in the Twin Cities metro and greater Minnesota areas. We hope to attract several cash and in-kind sponsors. Beyond good corporate citizenship, sponsors have an opportunity to market to engaged community members. We are interested in forming long lasting relationships with our sponsors as we look to grow this event in the years to come. Sponsors will be recognized on AccessAbility’s promotional materials, including social media channels as well.


We have a fun time planned: 70s theme, fun games and prizes, silent auction, live auction, pick-a-trip raffle, our popular in-demand annual basket raffle, stories of hope, cocktail hour, dinner, entertainment, and more.
