AccessAbility is excited to announce that its Evening Stars program received MOHR (Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation) 2018 Life Enrichment Award! Congratulations to Amy Jones, Recreation Services & Evening Programs Manager, her entire Evening Stars team and our fantastic volunteers, who all work tirelessly to make this program a great option for people in our community who need it.
AccessAbility’s Evening Stars is uniquely designed to provide after-hours social opportunities for individuals with disabilities to enrich their lives by interacting with their friends, families, and people in the community, in a way that is welcoming, safe and inclusive. Every aspect of the program, from planning to execution, is created with the purpose of ensuring individuals with a wide range of abilities are accommodated. The activities are fun and creative, and also provide opportunities to participate and compete in sporting events after the traditional work day.

Activities included Pizza and Movie Nights, Valentine’s Dinner, Sock Hop Dance, Walk and Roll-a-thon, NE Minneapolis Parade, Special Olympics Bocce Ball, Summer Picnic/BBQ, Halloween Party, Thanksgiving Dinner, Dances, Holiday Party, Desserts and Designs Night, Casino Night, Bingo Night, Twins Games, Special Olympic Bowling.
