Ngawang has always been a great worker and learner, and has shown great persistence toward accomplishing her vocational dream of working in a competitive job the greater community.
Determined to eventually achieve her dream, she arrived at AccessAbility in 2009. For a few years Ngawang did assembly work and document destruction in AAI’s in-house social enterprise businesses. In 2017, she took a great leap and worked on AAI’s supervised janitorial crews in the community full time. While gaining confidence in herself and in her abilities, Ngawang began to explore the idea of landing a competitive job in the community. In 2018, she decided she was finally ready.
Throughout early 2019, Ngawang has been working on building a resume and participating in job interviews. In September of this year, Ngawang was hired at the Canopy by Hilton Hotels in South Minneapolis as a house keeper.
Ngawang says she is fortunate that she gets to experience the best of both worlds. Not only does she work at her competitive job in the community on the weekends, but she also enjoys working at AccessAbility during the week.
Ngawang follows her dreams and reaches her goals, no matter how hard or how long it takes, and we are excited to see what she will achieve!
