When Theresa first came to AccessAbility, she was very quiet and unsure of herself. She started in January 2017, wanting to give us a try until the end of May when she could decide whether to stay or try something different. Theresa began working two days a week with a work team at our Hoover Street location. She began doing some work with the Imagine Design team as needed, where she found that she learned the job quickly and really enjoyed working with the team. She soon expressed that she would like to work more days and was approved for funding for three days a week. Since she began working in the Imagine Design department, she has learned several other jobs and is always willing to try new tasks. When it came time to decide whether or not to move on, Theresa expressed her desire to continue working at AccessAbility. She has recently been considered a candidate for supported employment through and is eager to see where that leads. Another big and exciting step for Theresa will be moving to her own place which she is currently working on. She has flourished working with the Imagine Design Team and learning new jobs tasks. Most importantly, she is doing what is best for her and making good decisions about her life. We are so glad that Theresa is part of AccessAbility’s team! We look forward to supporting her in achieving her goals and dreams!
